Olive and Ruby

It's all coffee and cactuses from where I sit

And the couple on my right plays with a young kid

And he's got a yellow rainhat and matching boots

I still remember the smells and the music, I wish I'd known that I'd come to lose it

Something so simple, and perfect, and beautiful gone

I still remember the smiles on faces, funny how time can take your favourite places

Sometimes my wandering mind finds itself in that shop

You and I spent the weekdays with lattes in that place and now it's all changed

You and I watched the rain mark the windows as people went on with their days

Now it's lost to a timeline and I find that my mind is back there again

I believe it when they say that old phrase, that all things come to an end
