How can a broken mirror

Reflect good images?

I work on myself

Yet me speaking won’t work out

And I don’t even know

What I’m about

Worried about this speech impediment

This pending in speech meant

In my speaking there’s a defect

It’s either I stretch these words

Or pronounce the English words worse

I’ve come to realize

That to send ma message across

Doesn’t have to be perfect

Myself and poetry

Have been practicing for 8 years

Just to be perfect

Yet when I pronounce an ‘R’

I took an ‘L’ first

My ‘H’ silent as dumb

And ‘Th’ came out as ‘T’

When ma speech

Was put to the test

But this did not discourage me

I practiced

Till I passed the test

And if you didn’t get me

All I’m saying is

Practice makes perfect

Wrong thinking

Stinking thinking got me sinking

In the oceans of misconception

Wrong belief

Always seeking sweet words to relieve

To relieve myself of depression
