Bien, Buruklyn Boyz, Khaligraph and Wakadinali Among Soundcity MVP Award Nominees

Soundcity Radio and Television, the brand behind the prestigious Tingo Mobile-Soundcity music awards festival has announced the nominees for this year’s edition of the continent-wide pop music showcase.

Kenyan nominees include rapper Khaligraph Jones, Wakadinali, Bien and Buruklyn Boyz.

Wakadinali goes against acts such as Victony and Ayra Starr in the Best New MVP category, the OG Khaligraph Jones and Dax have their collaboration Hiroshima nominated in the Best Hip Hop Song category where they go head to head with Wakadinali on their Gerti Inengi track.

Buruklyn Boyz go against NSG in the Best Duo category, while Bien and Aaron Rimbui battle it out for Song of the Year with Mbwe Mbwe.

The Soundcity MVP Awards, which transitioned from the famous Soundcity Video Music Awards (SMVA) in 2016, recognizes outstanding achievements of African artistes in various music categories.

Burna Boy leads this edition’s nominations with a total 8 nominations in 7 categories, having received two nominations in the best collaboration category. Following in second place is last edition’s best new artist winner Rema who is tied with new artist Asake with both of them having 7 nominations.
