It was the news that absolutely no one wanted to hear.
The multi talented Rwandese singer Yvan Buravan passed away, while undergoing treatment for cancer.
His death was announced by his management:
"It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce to you the untimely passing of our beloved Yvan Buravan, which occurred tonight in India, where he was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer."
We last spoke with Yvan when he visited the Boomplay offices, and he struck us as a massive talent with a bright future ahead of him.
He was a singer and songwriter whose talent earned him a huge amount of fans across Africa, after his start in talent shows in the past decade.
Rest in Peace, Yvan; your music and the joy you brought others will never be forgotten.
