2 Celebrities Who Where Killed By Their Own Fans

Devotion can quickly turn dangerous whether it's focused on famous actors, musicians, or athletes, some obsessive stalkers have taken their fandom way too far. Celebrities obviously tend to attract quite a lot of attention, but it's not always positive and sometimes it can even prove fatal. Here are a few stars whose lives were cut short by their fans.


1. Christina Grimmie


22-year-old singer and actress, Christina Grimmie was an upcoming superstar known for her incredible performance in the music show, The Voice was murdered by an obsessive fan identified as Kevin James Loibl in 2016.


On June 10th after a show, Christina Grimmie was signing autographs for fans and upon approaching to hug Kevin she was reportedly shot three times. Mark Grimmie, Christina's brother quickly grabbed and tackled Kelvin, but he managed to escape, only to shoot himself thereafter.

2. Rebecca Schaeffer


The killing of up-and-coming actress Rebecca Schaeffer in 1989 has left a lasting impression on the law ever since. The 21-year-old star of My Sister Sam was shot in the doorway of her Hollywood home by obsessed fan Robert John Bardo on July 18th.


According to the Los Angeles Times, Bardo had stalked Schaeffer for three years prior to the killing and even sent her letters in an attempt to meet with her onset of a sitcom. When his gestures went unanswered, Bardo spent $250 on private investigators to track down Schaeffer's address, which they acquired from the California DMV. Bardo then paid Schaeffer a fatal visit, reportedly ambushing her when she answered the door. After her death, legislation was passed to prohibit DMV employees from disclosing addresses.
