Manchester United coach's report: Ten Hag emerges unscathed

Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag has emerged as the front line to succeed Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who is expected to leave the Red Devils this summer.
The Dutch coach has been linked with a move away from the club with Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain, whose future is unknown after his side were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid.
The club has collected several doses of all the expected candidates, with Ten Hag at the moment.
Manchester United believe that Ten Hag will attract new players and help some of the current players in the current squad rediscover their level. Meanwhile, as the Daily Mail reported in February, several Manchester United directors prefer Ten Hag over Pochettino.
The current boss Rangnick has helped identify the couple and is expected to take on the role of consultant in the summer.
Simeone's Choice
Manchester United legend Gary Neville suggested last week that Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone would do a good job in the event that he took on the role of the Red Devils. However, former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler is not convinced that Simeone's tactics will work for Manchester United.
"I laughed this week when I heard Gary Neville shout that his former club should make Diego Simeone their next manager," Fowler said.
"Honestly. I'm not saying he opposes football, but some of the ridicule his team gets, some of the horrible things they do, and the tactics they follow. It's not Manchester United.
"Fans would call within a week, and even if he won things with it, they wouldn't tolerate it for long.
"United have some expectations about how they should play, which were set by Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson."
