RALF'S TEAM NEWS FOR BURNLEY GAME

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has provided a team news update in advance of the game at Burnley.

Tuesday's Turf Moor trip provides the opportunity to bounce back from the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round exit to Middlesbrough, with the clash kicking off at 20:00 GMT.

Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani are back in the squad to increase the attacking options, after a number of chances were squandered in Friday's 1-1 draw, before the penalty shoot-out defeat.

"They are both available and will both be part of the squad for tomorrow's game at Burnley," confirmed Rangnick at his pre-match press conference. "Both are top professionals, both have been training well."

Raphael Varane is fit to play, despite being withdrawn against Boro, and it was expected Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho would also be okay after knocks.

"He [Varane] seems to be physically fit," added the boss. "He has no issues anymore with injuries. Hopefully, we can have him in the same fitness shape and same form as he was against Middlesbrough for the upcoming games."

During his exclusive interview with club media, Rangnick revealed both Fred and Alex Telles have tested positive for COVID-19 and will be absent from the squad as a result.

David De Gea should be available again after not being named in the matchday squad for the FA Cup tie. The Premier League Player of the Month was rested, with Dean Henderson playing and both Tom Heaton and Lee Grant on the bench.

Victor Lindelof was ill last week and Eric Bailly returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with a swollen ankle.

Manager Sean Dyche said after the 0-0 draw with Watford at the weekend: "Players are coming back fit and we are going to have to maximise the players as much as we can.

"We are still stretched but we have to keep building to take it into next week. We've had players down through COVID and Johann [Berg Gudmundsson] had his appendix out, so he'll be out for a few weeks."

Josh Brownhill is available again after suspension but Matej Vydra, Charlie Taylor and Ashley Barnes are considered doubtful.
