Vikings: Valhalla season 1 is coming to Netflix in February 2022 with all eight episodes arriving on February 25th. Here’s an updated look at everything we know so far about Vikings: Valhalla season 1 including when we can expect it, first look pictures, the first teaser trailer, and a breakdown of who’s set to star.

Vikings: Valhalla is an upcoming Netflix Original historical drama created by Michael Hirst and a spin-off of the popular History Channel series, Vikings. The series will be produced by MGM Productions like its predecessor which ran for six seasons.

Vikings already streams on Netflix in most regions of the world but will come to Netflix in the US and the United Kingdom but not until at least 2024.

As we’ve learned, the show was given a huge episode order upfront. We’re told that it will span at least three seasons with 24 episodes ordered.

FIRST LOOKS AT VIKINGS: VALHALLA ON NETFLIX.


Before we dig into the gritty details on the new show, you probably want to have a gander at the show. Fortunately, we’ve had two first looks at the show.

The first look at Vikings: Valhalla was released as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week on June 7th, 2021.

The new trailer came with the caption “Now is our time to make history. A new era of warriors will rise in Vikings: Valhalla, coming to Netflix in 2022.”

IS VIKINGS ON NETFLIX? WILL IT COME TO NETFLIX IF IT’S NOT?


Most to all of Netflix around the globe has seen all six seasons made available over the past few years but there are still two major countries that do not have access.

I learned in the summer of 2021 that Netflix is set to see the original Vikings series become available in those two regions but not for a while. Seasons 1-6 of Vikings will come to Netflix in the US and UK but not until 2024/2025.

WHAT IS THE PLOT OF VIKINGS: VALHALLA?


Set over 100 years after the events of Vikings, the end of the Viking age draws ever closer as the Kingdom of England stands tall against its Scandanavian raiders. After the death of King Edward the Confessor, three lords make claims to the English throne, changing the future of England forever.

WILL ANYONE FROM THE ORIGINAL VIKINGS  APPEAR IN THE NEW SERIES?


Yes, and the first and most notable actor from Vikings that will appear in Valhalla is John Kavanagh as confirmed by his agency CV. He portrayed the Ancient Seer throughout all six seasons of Vikings and later on started appearing in some characters’ visions. We assume he will be appearing in visions in Valhalla as well.

HOW MANY EPISODES WILL VIKINGS: VALHALLA AIR?


It has been confirmed that 24 episodes of Vikings: Valhalla have been ordered thus far.

Given we know that the series has been ordered across 3 seasons, we’re expecting each season to consist of 8 episodes.
