Philipp Lienhart is currently thriving for Freiburg in the Bundesliga, but the Austrian centre-back actually spent three years at Real Madrid and has been critical of the lavish lifestyle that some of the club's youngsters had during his time there.
The 25-year-old, who has a market value of 14 million euros according to Transfermarkt, spent three years at Real Madrid between 2014 and 2017 before joining Freiburg on loan and then permanently.
"I was surprised to see under-17 players walking around with 500 euro toiletry bags," Lienhart said in an interview with Transfermarkt when asked about his time at Real Madrid.
"I don't think that's necessary... I think it's not good when a young player earns so much money, he can lose sight of what's really important in his career. That's how you lose a lot of young talents."
