#BuzzScreenReview: Catch All the Action in Black Widow
Black Widow is finally here and, Natasha Romanoff is the lady of the hour. Romanoff has played Scarlett Johansson in all four of The Avengers movies and seven MCU movies overall. As an MCU fan, "Black Widow" meets and exceeds expectations with the killer action flick and a unique viewing experience. What I am saying is, I loved it!
The movie starts with young Natasha and her sister Yelena living in Ohio with their parents in what seemed like a normal family. Turns out, mum and dad were Russian spies and, the kids were later to become super-soldiers.
For a story that seeks to make amends on the sins of a spy, Black Widow places the audience between the events of Civil War and Infinity War. Natasha is on the run after not taking sides between Captain America's conflict with Iron Man. Romanoff, who has been a spy over the years, is practically alone, but her former family reappears as the circumstances of their separation unravel.
Natasha is on the run from her government underground after violating the Sokovia Accords. While laying low, she receives a package from Yelena, who is suffering through her forced exile after discovering a substance that releases the Widows from their chemical subjugation.
“Black Widow” centres on vials that can turn killing machines back into ordinary women. Yelena sends a case of the vials to her sister, knowing it will bring her to a safe house in Budapest. From there, they are forced to break Alexei, aka The Red Guardian, out of prison and eventually reunite with the Black Widow who made them. The action, comedy, and drama that unfolds will have you at the corner of your seat excited.
“Black Widow” is sleeker than a lot of other MCU directors. It's a more driven film than we often get, deftly moving from one action set-piece to another, only losing its momentum in a couple of scenes and, the fact that it is thin on villains like many MCU films.
Have you watched it? Let us know what you think of the movie. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
