Wizkid's 'Essence' Enters Billboard Hot 100

One of Africa's brightest stars Wizkid hailing from Nigeria is back on the Billboard Hot 100. Its been 2 years since he was on the highly contested chart with Beyonce and Saint JHN on 'Brown Skin Girl'.
'Essence' is his 3rd single on Hot 100, and he returns as a sole lead artist as he features Tems. 'One Dance' which he was featured on by Drake was his breakthrough which reigned No. 1 for 20 weeks in 2016.
Wizkid is also excited that celebrities are playing the song making it more popular. Kevin Hart, Rihanna and Diddy have been on Instagram partying to the record. "I feel blessed to make music that touches people. Big shout out to all the fans and good music lovers everywhere." he said in a statement.
This is the first time 26-year-old vocalist, singer and songwriter Tems hits the Hot 100. "I am blessed to have Wiz, and i am extremely grateful to God and all supporters worldwide. This is a moment i don't take for granted." she said in a statement.
Essence is on Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos' album which debuted at No. 2 on The World Album charts last November. The jam has clocked over 5.5 million US streams.
