This Brutal Comment From Usher Made T-Pain Sink Into A Four- Year Depression

Singer, rapper and producer T-Pain is opening about a dark time in his life that was brought by fellow singer Usher.

In a clip from the upcoming Netflix series 'This Is Pop' T-Pain revealed he fell into four-year long depression after Usher made a foul comment about his use of auto-tune.


Usher told T-Pain that he f*cked up music. The 35-year old singer thought Usher was joking but he wasn't. "And then he was like, 'Yea man, you really f*cked up music for real singers.' I was like, 'what did i do? I came out and used Auto-tune," T-Pain said. "I used it, i didn't tell everybody else to start using it."


He continued, "That is the very moment, and i don't think i realised this for a long time, but that was the very moment that started a four-year depression for me."


T-Pain almost single handedly popularised the use of the pitch-altering technology Auto-tune in Hiphop, beginning with his 2005 debut hut single 'I'm Sprung' which hit Top 10 of the the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
