Cardi B Files For Divorce – Is This Really It For Offset And Her?

Cardi B (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar) has filed for divorce from her husband, Kiari Cepheus (Offset). The 2019 Best Rap Album Winner filed it in Atlanta, Georgia near their place of residence. In the file, she stated that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and that there are “no prospects of reconciliation”. Cardi B and Offset got married back in September 2017 and have one child (Kulture) together. However, the marriage has had its ups and downs and the two have apparently been in a “bona fide state of separation” leading to the filing.

This isn’t the first time that news has cropped up about these two splitting. Back in 2018, just a year after the hitch, Cardi posted on her Instagram that the two were no longer together. However, they made up and have even shared stages. It is unfortunate then that things now seem unrecoverable. Cardi now seeks “primary physical custody” of Kulture as well as “support and maintenance”.

The divorce hearing has been set for the 4th of November, 2020 at 10am. Till then, Cardi continues to make news for her latest track WAP. While many hail it for being a feminist masterpiece, some poke at it for its obscenity. However, she shoots right back saying that “it’s what people want to hear”. The controversy never really seems to end.
