Have You Met The Newest Artist That Sol Generation Has Revealed?

Sauti Sol made a real statement in the music industry in the country when they unveiled their record label artists to the world one year ago. The quadruple threat of Bensoul, Nviiri The Storyteller, Crystal Asige and Kaskazini (band) were formally introduced to the 254 in the big hit, 'Extravaganza'. However, along the way, the label has dropped the latter two, retaining the “Lucy” and “Pombe Sigara” hit makers.
When asked about the exodus of the duo, Bien-Aime made it clear that it was all professional. He went on to add that Bensoul and Nviiri were the “future of Kenyan music”. The two artists have released several songs that have endeared them to their fans, the former going forth to release an EP 'Qwarantunes'. Bensoul is well known for Lucy, Favourite Song and Peddi, while Nviiri’s tracklist boasts jams such as Overdose, Pombe Sigara and Kesi Baadae. All of these pieces have bagged considerably high streams and views across the many platforms they are posted on.
For the most part, these artists have done solo releases, save for those they teamed up with the reset of the label. However, Nviiri has recently gone an extra step by collaborating with an artist who isn’t a member of Sol Generation. Ray Gee, as he is known by his artistic name, was handed his first ever major song when he featured on Nviiri’s newest song, “Lesotho”. The prodigy immediately impressed when he started his verse. He has a very unique and crisp voice, synonymous to Neyo’s, with great range and smooth transition from head voice to chest voice. The man is musically beautiful!
As it turns out, Ray Gee was a street kid and got his big break when Lulu Hassan interviewed him and gave him the chance to sing at the end. He performed a passionate song in which he revealed his desire to make it in the music industry so that he can help his “brothers” who he grew up with on the streets. The opportunity to feature in a Nviiri song is one that will go a long way in pinning him on the charts in the coming years.
