The Affair was a pop group from The Shires formed in 1975-76. Its members were Keith Marwick, Brian Potter, Phil Dove and Iain McKenzie. They were signed to Virgin subsidiary, Dindisc in 1979. Whilst that didn’t work out they went on to sign with RCA Sunbury and were then managed by Jeremy Thomas and Max Hole.
They worked with many of the top producers of that time including Paul Carman, Mike Howlett, Andy Arthurs, Trevor Spencer, Rupert Hine and others.
A young Simon Cowell signed and managed the group before it morphed into NVU, a duo, comprising Keith and Brian.
The songs here - mainly 'demo' recordings - were all recorded between 1978-84 and are taken from the archives of Martin Nichols (the bands’ sound-man and 5th member)....more
