Lady X further explored her sound into Afro Soul when she teamed up with award-winning producer/ songwriter Mojalefa Thebe, crafting her debut album (Love Life Complicated), a project which spawned the successful single: ‘iGugu Lami’.
This album led to nominations at several major award shows, namely the South African Music Awards (SAMAs), All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMMAs), South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMAs) and South African Afro Music Awards (SAAFMA). Lady X drew the attention of South African brands becoming an ambassador for SAB’s first tequila based cider, ‘Liberado’ and Styling Dreads.
The most recent achievement came in 2020 when her music was featured on the hugely successful African Netflix Original series, Blood & Water and her feature in Essence Festival 2020.
