Know More About 2Baba

2Baba has always been a lover of music and this has been testified by his former classmates from Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School in Makurd where the singer had his O’Levels.

After transitioning to IMT in Enugu, 2Baba alongside his friend Blackface began the group Plantashun Boiz as a duo before the addition of Faze.

The group, Plantashun Boiz went on to release two successful albums: Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003) under Nelson Brown's label (Dove Records) before falling out in 2004.

However, they reunited in 2007 for a third album titled Plan B and after that, the group went back to oblivion.

Solo Career

2Baba started gunning for the top alone after the Plantashun Boiz got disbanded. The singer got signed on to Kennis Music where he released 2 albums, Face 2 Face in 2004 and in 2006, Grass 2 Grace.

His third studio album, The Unstoppable was an experimental project released in 2009 under his own label, Hypertek Digital. In 2010 he released an International version of The Unstoppable.

After that, 2Baba has gone on to release 3 more successful studio albums titled Away & Beyond in 2012, The Ascension in 2014 and the 2020 released album titled Warriors.

An Icon Highly Admired

Recently, 2Baba featured the Legendary singer, Bongos Ikwue on the song “Searching” which is a remake of the latter’s song “Still Searching” originally released in 1978.

In 2016, Innocent Idibia dropped the name 2Face and was subsequently referred to with the name, 2Baba.

2Baba is a recipient of a couple of prestigious awards such as one MTV Europe Music Award, one World Music Award, five Headies Awards (Hip-hop award), four Channel O Music Video Awards and one BET award for his musical work, four MTV Africa Music Awards, one MOBO award, one KORA award, 3 Afrima Awards, and numerous additional nominations.
