Boomplay Awards Showcase: Nadia Mukami

African Popstar Nadia Mukami is the latest recipient of plaques from the Home of Music, Boomplay.

The queen of pop was awarded two plaques for hitting over 10 million accumulative streams and for having her chart-topping collab 'Wangu' featuring Sanaipei Tande hit over 2 million streams on Boomplay.

Nadia is the most streamed female artiste in Kenya (currently at over 11 million) and the third most listened to in East Africa on Boomplay. Only Zuchu and Nandy have more numbers than the 'Maombi' singer.

On getting her plaques at the Boomplay Kenya offices in Nairobi, Nadia thanked her fans for always having her back and Boomplay for supporting the Kenyan music industry.

"I am so overwhelmed and I want to thank the Boomplay family. Like I have always said, Boomplay is my best friend" she said.

"Boomplay has contributed a lot in my music career through the playlists and generally just plugging my music. The support has been great and with that, cheers and thank you so much Boomplay" she added.

Following the success of her debut EP 'African Popstar', Nadia has promised fans a new album. She said she is currently working on it and that's the reason she hasn't released so much music this year.

"The future is bright, this year I have taken a seat back because I am working on my album. It will be a Pan-African kind of album and I can't wait for you guys to listen to it. We are going international" she stated.

Nadia has in 2021 dropped songs like, 'Nipe Yote' and 'Roho Mbaya' and now looks forward to joining the 100 million club on Boomplay. Only three artistes in Burna Boy, Olamide and Fireboy have crossed that mark on the app.
